This one to two day program is designed to support the next generation of leaders, as well as established leaders facing new challenges. It is a stand alone course, but also includes some requirements of BSB40520 Certificate IV Leadership and Management which we will offer in 2022.

Leadership Coaching and Mentoring is focused on helping emerging and established leaders to develop and maintain leadership relationships which engage with modern diversity and wellbeing issues.  The course helps learners to build confidence, emotional intelligence and communication skills for application within the coaching and mentoring processes they’ll learn. It is designed to help bridge the gap between traditional and modern leadership styles, help leaders find authenticity in their work, and embed a people-first approach to workplace culture.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this short course, learners will be able to:

  • Understand traditional and emerging leadership styles, and their own style
  • Demonstrate knowledge and insight about the management, coaching and mentoring relationships
  • Identify and assess areas for improvement in leadership and employees
  • Understand professional learning and the creation of a learning culture
  • Establish the parameters of a coaching or mentoring relationship
  • Apply the GROW coaching model and coaching tools
  • Prepare and follow a mentoring agreement, plan and scope
  • Undertake mentoring or coaching
  • Support coachees and mentees to choose and test development goals and strategies
  • Apply communication tools to enhance mentoring or coaching
  • Support idea generation, teamwork and consultation
  • Engage in and support others to engage in reflective practice
  • Develop emotional intelligence in themselves and others
  • Conduct difficult conversations
  • Overcome barriers to communication
  • Resolve conflict, provide feedback and enhance engagement in coaching and mentoring
  • Identify when to adapt or close the mentoring and coaching relationship

Public classes: Please contact us to express interest

Private classes: One day = $2,400 plus GST per cohort (classes range from 4-25), Two day = $3,600 plus GST per cohort (classes range from 4-25)

Groups of 3 students or more enrolling together each get a 10% discount. Learners who enrol in our accredited BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management within six months of this course may receive a 25% discount, and may qualify for credit towards the certificate. Learners wishing to take up this opportunity are advised to retain records of their attendance and their activities completed during the class.

Course Entry Requirements

  • Must be 18 or more years old
  • Must have obtained an academic level of Year 12 or above or equivalent
  • Must meet course prerequisites and the requirements of our enrolment process

Training Dates

If you would like a private course for 4 or more learners, these can be run in person or online. Please contact us directly to make arrangements.

If you want undertake this course but don’t have 4 or more learners, please contact us to express your interest. We will notify you once there are enough interested learners to run a public cohort.

An important note: during 2024, all public courses will be delivered online using Zoom. 

Once we know a course that suits you has sufficient enrolment numbers to go ahead, we’ll provide you with the details for your final confirmation. You won’t receive an invoice until this happens.
